16th Annual Cascade Zydeco Dance Camp

September 17 - 19, 2010
Cascade Zydeco's 16th annual Dance Camp will be held at the Mt Hood Kiwanis Camp for the third year in a row in the beautiful Mt Hood National Forest, just 55 miles east of Portland, Oregon. The Little Zig Zag River flows through the camp with great hiking trails right outside your cabin door. Visit the map to camp so you know where to go on September 17! Drop in on the videos from 2009 camp, too.

T-Broussard and the Zydeco Steppers headline three days of music, dance instruction, friendship, food, beautiful Mt Hood scenery, swimming, hiking, and plenty of dancing.

Registration, both on line and a printable mail-in registration form, will be available soon along with cost information, schedules, and more details on what camp has to offer in 2010. Save the date on your calendar!

They'll be joined by the renowned teaching team of Cheri Mullinex and Anthony Lewis from Atlanta, Georgia. Cheri and Anthony have been teaching together since 1997 at their studio and at festivals around the southeast and beyond.

Seattle's own Gator Boy will be helping those beginners learn the zydeco.

You Can Help

The Seattle Zydeco Connection is looking for a few good men and women to join the team. We need people with organizational skills, computer skills, and with a little time on your hands to help out at the dances and the fund raisers. The average time commitment per month is about 6-8 hours. We meet once a month for an hour and the rest is just getting things done. Email me if you are interested and you will be invited to the next meeting.
